Encuentro Orcasur is a university project that focuses on bettering the working class neighbourhood of Orcasur, in Madrid. The project is born after investigating the neighbourhood and it's current social and economic situation.
Creating an identity is an essential step to elevate a brand, create a community and help it grow. The idea behind this project was to create a brand identity to have a positive change and make an impact on the neighbourhood and it's future.
MISSION STATEMENT
The request was to reform the main square of Orcasur, and make a proposal of ways to implement design to positively boost the circumstances of the place. It integrated a urban reformation of the main square, located behind the market, the creation of an identity linked to a marketing strategy to revive the neighbourhood as well as the graphic materials to accomplish all of those things
PROJECT SCOPE
After the investigation it was concluded that the new space had to have some correlation to the costums of Orcasur but also take into consideration the open square as a way to create something innovative and modern. As a working class neighbourhood, the target audience tends to be more traditional and close minded to change so that was an essential part to consider designwise. Another requirement was that it neded to be a social cause, it needed to have a purpose to help the neighbourhood grow and to have an impact on the people living there.
Analyzing different open square spaces urban designs helped me better understand the needs of the general public and best practices for these type of projects.

MISSION
Use cooking as a medium to bring opportunities to less resourcefull or marginalized people, motivating them and getting them involved in a community
VISION
